STANDARD FEATURES FOR CONDUCT OF WSF COACHING COURSES

GENERAL

1. All WSF Coaching Courses come under the purview of the ASF Coaching Committee.
2. Dates and Venue for all WSF Coaching Courses must be endorsed by ASF/National Associations
3. Requests for conduct of Coaching Courses not on the ASF Calendar must be made to ASF at least two months before the intended start date of the course.
4. Courses must be open to anyone qualified, including outstation/overseas participants.
5. ASF shall appoint certified Tutors to conduct the courses.

WSF COACHING COURSES

1. Course Duration - The WSF Level 1 - 5 days, Level 2 and 3 - 6 days
2. A minimum of 8 participants are required for a course to be conducted
3. There will be a theory and practical assessment at the end of the course.
4. On successful completion of the theory and practical assessments, candidates are required to complete a practical coaching assignment as follows, :
a. Level 1 - 20 hours, Level 2 - 30 hours, Level 3 - 40 hours.
b. Only 2 hours of coaching per week will be considered towards the total.
c. Minimum completion time is Level 1–10 weeks, Level 2-15 weeks, Level 3- 20 weeks
d. Maximum completion time is Level 1–15 weeks, Level 2-20 weeks, Level 3-25 weeks
e. A coach, who does not complete his coaching hours within the stipulated period, will be required to repeat the whole course.
5. Once the above practicum is successfully completed and endorsed by respective national squash associations, candidates will receive a soft copy of the WSF Certificate and his/her name will appear on the coaches list on the WSF Website.
6. WSF coaches must provide evidence of coaching activity to continue to be listed on the WSF website after the 3-year period. This activity could be attendance of a coaching course, conference, or a confirmation of activity by the National Associations

CANDIDATE FEE AND ELIGIBILITY

*This payment is made in advance of the course as only those at the correct level can attend a course (so there will be no post-course payment and anybody who fails would be able to re-take the course within the three-year period that their payment has covered).

WSF SPIN REGISTRATION FEES

*All candidates are required to have a WSF SPIN in order to register for the Course

Registration: All Ages - £15.00 (including 1st year payment)

Annual renewal: Adult –  £10.00.

Annual renewal: Junior – £5.00 (under 19 on 1 Jan of their renewal year)

RESPONSIBILITIES OF HOST

1. Appointment of "Course Coordinator"
2. Arrange a classroom for theory sessions with white board and markers
3. Provide LCD for PowerPoint presentations
4. Blank A4 size paper for written exam and writing material
5. Squash courts for practical sessions (Court numbers depends on number of participants - maximum of 5 candidates to a court)
6. Adequate squash balls
7. Course T-shirts
8. Meal
9. Provide at least 3 players per court of the appropriate, level as students for the practical exam
10. Tutor Entitlements
a. Return air ticket or transport reimbursement
b. Accommodation – 1 night before and 1night after
c. Airport transfer where required
d. Meals or allowance in lieu
e. Professional fee as follows:
Level 1 - USD 150.00 per day
Level 2 - USD 200.00 per day
Level 3 - USD 300.00 per day
**The above fee should be provided, including 1 day before and 1 day after the event.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF TUTOR

1. Provide the Course Manual (soft copy).

2. Conduct the course according to the WSF tutor guide.

3. Carry out the theory and practical assessment unbiasedly. 

4. Submit a full report of the course along with all results and exam papers to the ASF Coaching Committee within 7 days of the completion of the course.

5. Monitor the practical assignment of successful candidates.

6. Assess written assignments, until they are completed to WSF requirements.
